Builder confidence in the single-family 55-plus housing market remained in positive territory for the first quarter of 2016, according to the National Association of Home Builders. The organization's most recent 55+ Housing Market Index, released last week, showed a reading of 56, a five-point dip from the previous quarter, but it is still the eighth consecutive quarter with a reading above 50. Each 55+ Housing Market Index measures builder sentiment based on a survey that asks if current sales, prospective buyer traffic and anticipated six-month sales for that market are good, fair or poor.
